SUMMARY:Tauranga Woodcrafters' Turners Group
DESCRIPTION:Our Turners Group meets each month on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 9:30am & 1:30pm and the 4th Wednesday of the month at 9:30am at the Guild’s Workshop. Our Turning Group meetings combine hands-on learning sessions with one on one instruction in the mornings followed by a group project and critique in the afternoons. \nExperienced members work with new turners to develop skills and to build people’s confidence in using the equipment correctly. \nOur workshop is well equipped with lathes. New members can use a good selection of turning chisels and scrapers which are owned by the club until they build their skills and begin to buy their own equipment. \nThe Turning Group build members skills by setting a monthly project and then having an experienced turner critique each members contribution at the following meeting. Their objective is to explore new ideas and to improve. \nWebsite: http://taurangawoodcrafters.org/turners/ \n \nOther woodcrafting groups operate as well. \nThe Tauranga Woodcrafters have monthly meetings for our different interest groups at the workshop. Carvers meet on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of the month at 9:30am.  Scrollsaw Group meets on 1st & 3rd Wednesdays at 9:30am. Open Workshop (covering all areas of woodworking interest) meet on 2nd & 4th Wednesday’s at 6:30pm and 2nd & 4th Saturdays at 9:30am. We have a full club monthly meeting on the 3rd Saturday at 1:30pm.

DESCRIPTION:An informal meeting get together with Kim Westerskov\, a professional photographer\, writer & photographer of 18 books\, marine biologist and photography teacher . \nKim has helped many hundreds of photographers [from beginners to professionals] and he’d love to help you too. Kim’s philosophy is to make it all as simple as possible and as much fun as possible. He is passionate about photography and passionate about inspiring\, guiding\, and supporting photographers. \nWe meet on the first Tuesday of each month [except January]\, chat about photography\, and view some of the recent photos we’ve taken. It’s free [no charge]\, supper is served\, and there’s no obligation of any kind. Please email me if you’d like to come [it’s not a big room so I need to keep an eye on numbers].\nThese evenings are always fun and friendly – there’s usually many smiles and laughs. It’s a great way of meeting up with like-minded people\, being inspired by the creativity of our group of photographers\, and coming away with new ideas and tips. There’s a wide range of interests and abilities – so you’re very unlikely to feel out of your depth. Bring photos if you wish\, but there’s no obligation to.
