DESCRIPTION:Come along to our Life Drawing bi monthly Life Drawing Session\nLife Drawing Session Friday (first and third Friday of the month) \nWhere: 171a Elizabeth Street West\, Tauranga\nKoha: $10.00 for Society Members\, $15.00 for Guests \nLife Drawing\, Figure Drawing… the act of drawing a living person.\nIt’s one of the most challenging and interesting ways to develop your drawing skills. Skills that translate to all aspects of art making.\nIt’s also a great way to escape into your own world for a little while.\nThis is an untutored session\, however\, we won’t leave you completely alone if you are new to it and need a little help getting started. It is a very friendly\, mixed level\, session and you will be surprised what you can learn and achieve with a little encouragement.\nIf you are an experienced artist or student a Life Model will give you unlimited inspiration and a chance to experiment with your technique\, materials and style. And we all appreciate and are inspired by new approaches.\nWe always take time for a feedback session before we leave. This is a positive and invaluable part of the session. It is inspiring looking at what worked during the session and why; sometimes the less obvious “works” provide the most interesting insights. There is always something to learn.\nBring your own drawing/painting gear (any media is fine)\, there is usually sugar paper available for sale at the Art Room. We do have some easels at the rooms\, but they are limited. If you have your own please feel free to bring it along.\nPlease turn up in time to assist with set up\, and stay on to assist with pack down. We are a self supporting group and if everyone helps it is very quick and easy. \nPS:  If you are interested in modelling and are available please feel free to PM me. We love experienced Models\, but are happy to use a sprinkling of “new” models… so don’t be reluctant if you haven’t done it before.

Kei te kimi koe I tētahi wahi  anō ki te kōrero māori?\nKoinei te kauapa tika māu! \nOutside of wānanga and marae it can feel difficult to find a safe space to use and speak Te Reo Māori. The library is here for you. \nKawhe-whawhe is an initiative aimed to provide learners and proficient speakers of Te Reo with a comfortable environment to share whakaaro\, have fun\, play games\, learn something new and kōrero with each other in Te Reo. \nSome activities included are- wanānga whakatauki\, kahoot\, wetewete korero\, learn sentence structures\, learning games and just have a korero! \nHot beverages and biscuits provided. \nNo bookings are required. \nSo come along\, have a korero and meet new people \nE ngā kākā waha nui\, e nga manu pīkoko ki te reo rangatira\, nau kake mai nau haere mai ki te whakawhiti kōrero\, ki te takaro i ngā kēmu māori me te wānanga I ngā kaupapa maha \nTukua tō reo kia rere! \nHe Puna Manawa (Tauranga library)\nWednesdays from 12:30 noon-1:30pm \nPāpāmoa Library\nFridays from 12 noon-1pm
