SUMMARY:Tauranga Woodcrafters' Turners Group
DESCRIPTION:Our Turners Group meets each month on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 9:30am & 1:30pm and the 4th Wednesday of the month at 9:30am at the Guild’s Workshop. Our Turning Group meetings combine hands-on learning sessions with one on one instruction in the mornings followed by a group project and critique in the afternoons. \nExperienced members work with new turners to develop skills and to build people’s confidence in using the equipment correctly. \nOur workshop is well equipped with lathes. New members can use a good selection of turning chisels and scrapers which are owned by the club until they build their skills and begin to buy their own equipment. \nThe Turning Group build members skills by setting a monthly project and then having an experienced turner critique each members contribution at the following meeting. Their objective is to explore new ideas and to improve. \nWebsite: http://taurangawoodcrafters.org/turners/ \n \nOther woodcrafting groups operate as well. \nThe Tauranga Woodcrafters have monthly meetings for our different interest groups at the workshop. Carvers meet on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of the month at 9:30am.  Scrollsaw Group meets on 1st & 3rd Wednesdays at 9:30am. Open Workshop (covering all areas of woodworking interest) meet on 2nd & 4th Wednesday’s at 6:30pm and 2nd & 4th Saturdays at 9:30am. We have a full club monthly meeting on the 3rd Saturday at 1:30pm.

He’s a master craftsman of clay\, water colour\, occasionally wood carving and the art of bespoke shoe making. \nA Greenman is a sculpture found across many cultures around the globe from the dawn of time. Often seen outside in parks or formal gardens\, hanging on walls or trees\, the green Man is a face surround or made from leaves. Branches or vines may sprout from the nose\, mouth\, or other parts of the face. The Green Man is often related to natural vegetative deities. It is primarily interpreted as a symbol of rebirth representing the cycle of growth each spring. \nEvery participant will be able to achieve their own unique mask made from Clay. \nThey will be fired and ready to collect approx 10 days after. \nWhen: Thursday June 22nd  6pm-8pm\nWhere: The Incubator\, Historic Village\, 17th Ave\, Tauranga\nCost:  $65

Designed to work in with a busy schedule and to develop your skill. Make it a regular “thing” and you can work on more complicated projects. \nAt the Pottery Studio\, we indulge in social pottery making. Everyone is welcome. No experience necessary.
