Or will you take the challenge and change one small thing to make a difference?\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn order to turn back the clock\, even just a fraction\, we need to do something… but what is it and where do we start?  We start with doing ONE thing!\n\nBecome part of the solution\, and learn about awesome tools such as cloth nappies and much more!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Kate does not preach she inspires. I learned so much and she made me realize there is no need to be perfect we just need to all do something”\nThis course is designed for you to complete at your own pace. You can sit down and work your way through the modules all at once\, or you can do it bit by bit when you have the energy – it’s your call! \nThe topics for this course include: \n\nIntro/What’s the problem?\nLandfill\nRecycling\nWaste Water\nProducts: Feeding & Baby Food\nProducts: Cloth Nappies 101\nWashing Cloth Nappies\nProducts: Extra for experts\n\nThe coolest bit? Not only do you get the most up-to-date and effective waste minimisation education out there\, but you are also sent out a goodie bag full of waste minimisation products (Including a couple cloth nappies) worth $100 so that you can take your brand new knowledge and inspiration and put it into action! \nTicket price: $27. SUMMARY:Tinkd Makerspace : Repair Café
DESCRIPTION:The perfect opportunity to have broken belongings assessed or repaired is right around the corner. \nTauranga hoarders\, tinkerers and holders of broken gadgets can rejoice\, as Tauranga’s Repair Café pop up  opens up on the last Saturday of each month at 148 Durham Street\, Tauranga. Get your objects fixed for free! Volunteers try to repair items destined for landfill. Get your objects fixed for free! \nRepair Cafés are described as “free pop-up events” where local people can bring in their “broken or damaged belongings” to local volunteers\, who do their best to repair or assess them. \nTauranga is joining the global movement with its own Repair Café with a volunteer driven initiative as part of Tinkd Makerspace. \nAccording to a spokesperson\, Repair Cafés aim to reduce waste and overconsumption. \nThey also encourage and foster the “do it yourself” spirit and strengthen social connections by bringing different members of the community together. \n“The purpose of these events is two-fold: to try to change our “throwaway culture” and to bring people in the community together. An added bonus is that it saves people money\,” says founder of Tinkd Makerspace\, Steven Vincent. \n“If their item can be repaired they don’t need to replace it\, pay for more expensive repairs elsewhere\, or send it to the landfill. If the item can’t be repaired\, then at least we’ve tried! \nFor more information and tickets to the next Repair Café event\, visit the Tinkd website. \nWhen: Last Saturday of the month\nTime: 9.30am – 11.30am\nWhere: Tinkd Makerspace\, 148 Durham St Tauranga \nThe organisers are looking for more volunteer repairers with different skill sets to add to the events. It’s free to attend with an item but pre-booking an item is preferred as it allows the organisers to prepare for any repairs.
