SUMMARY:Fools & Dreamers: Regenerating Native Forest
DESCRIPTION:When\, in 1987\, Hugh Wilson\, a botanist at Hinewai Reserve\, introduced ‘weed’ gorse to grow as a nurse canopy to regenerate farmland into native forest people were not only skeptical but outright angry.\nNow considered a hero locally and across the country\, Hugh oversees 1500 hectares resplendent in native forest\, where birds and other wildlife are abundant and 47 known waterfalls are in permanent flow. He has proven without doubt that nature knows best – and that he is no fool.\nAfterwards\, directors\, Antoinette Wilson and Jordon Osmond\, will speak to the themes of the film and give a bit of background knowledge about the initiative before a Q&A session. \nWhere: Historic Village\, Tauranga\nWhen: Tuesday March 3rd 2020 \nCost: $10 and booking fee \nGet Tickets HERE \nThis event is part of Envirohub’s Sustainable Backyards 2020.
