SUMMARY:Introduction to Bone Carving with Gavin Smith.
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is held over 2 sessions\, on consecutive days.\nDate: 12 & 13 August\nTime: 9.30am – 12.30pm\nCost: $85\nMy name is Gavin Smith I began my journey Bone Carving 17 years ago. Bone Carving has changed the way I see the world\, it has influenced how I raised my 3 children\, and engaged with at risk youth and whanau in the Tauranga Moana as a social worker. I believe that whakairo is about story\, the role of the bone carver is to create a snapshot in time. This course is an interpretation of the value I place on the story within the carving of bone.
