Saturn is now high enough to be viewed throughout the evening. The Moon will be 86% illuminated. Scorpius and the Southern Cross are the main constellations currently visible.\n\nThe meeting starts at 7:30pm. We have a 10 minute break at around 8:30pm before the second half starts at 8:40pm. The main meeting will finish at around 9:15pm. Telescope viewing may continue after 9:30pm weather permitting and depending on the visibility of suitable objects. \n\n\nMeetings are held in the Otumoetai Sports and Recreation Club building\, Fergusson Park\, end of Tilby Drive\, Matua\, Tauranga on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm. Presentations are given on current astronomical topics. All those interested in astronomy in the Bay of Plenty district are invited to attend. \nEntry for non-members is $5 per adult.
