SUMMARY:Stone Carving for Beginners
DESCRIPTION:Learn the basics of how to use the tools needed to craft shapes from stone. Create and design a 3D sculpture. Covers basic carving techniques in soft stone (Oamaru stone); all the stone and carving tools supplied. Participants to arrive with an idea in mind to produce a stone sculpture over the weekend. Very small class with a max of 5 students. \nTutor: Rex O’Brien \nExplore how to use tools to shape stone with award winning and experienced tutor and artist Rex O’Brien. Rex holds a Diploma in Art BOP Polytechnic\, has been carving for over 18 years and been instrumental in organising and participating in carving symposiums nationwide. \nDates: 30th and 31st October 2021 (One full Weekend)\nTime: 9am – 4pm\nCost: $295 \nAll Materials\, Safety Gear and Tools Supplied.
