SUMMARY:Sew a Bumbag
DESCRIPTION:Don’t get bummed…get bumbagged! \nIn this 2 hour workshop you will use your existing sewing skills to create a bumbag that will see you through the summer! Basic sewing experience is absolutely necessary! This one’s a little bit technical but my god is it satisfying! Bring some awesome fabric with you or use the salvaged fabrics we have at ReMaker. (Get creative too – maybe you have an old shirt at home that you’ve already been spotted in and it’s time to mix things up? Use the rest of the fabric to make a matching beret?  Surely.) \nYou will spend the first 30 minutes cutting out your fabrics\, then approx 1.5 hours constructing the bumbag which will include inserting a zip. Bring an old sheet with a funky print or that special piece of fabric that you’ve been saving and come to make this all-seasons garment. In the class you will learn to customize this traditionally zero waste pattern to fit YOUR body and your fabric.\n\n\nFor your material\, choose a sheet from your local opshop that has no stains or holes with a print or color you enjoy. It can be any size from a single to a king. Can’t find a sheet? You can use an old duvet\, a large old piece of fabric\, or even a curtain as long as it’s not too thick. Bring matching thread if you have it\, otherwise we have some available to use.\n\nBasic sewing machine knowledge is required.\n\nThis workshop is done in two stages:\nPart 1: Plan your zero waste pattern and cut out your pieces\nPart 2 (optional): 21 April 4:00 – 6:30pm (separate registration)\nSew your pieces together.
