SUMMARY:Chain Making Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn this most ancient of jewellery techniques. Spend the day making your own chain from scratch\, by hand with basic tools.\n\nIn this six-hour workshop\, along with other keen crafters\, you’ll learn about different types of chains and metals as well as the jewellery making techniques you’ll need to design\, form and assemble your chain. We’ll also cover finishing techniques so that you can wear your new adornment home.\nWhen: Sunday 25th April 2021\nWhere: The Artery\, Historic Village\, 17th Ave\, Tauranga\nCost: $135\n\nTo Book: Email me\, Ruth\, through the Contact page on my website or at bronnsmith@gmail.com\n\n\nTOOLS & MATERIALS\n• Jewellers saw and saw blades (size 2 and 0/2)\n• Ring clamp\n• Vice\n• Electric hand drill\n• 1mm+ wire\n• Assorted rods: 3mm+ drill bits or knitting needles are recommended. Plastic or metal\, not wood.\n• Files and sandpaper\n• Hammer and block\n• Flat nose/chain nose pliers x 2\n• Pen and paper\n\nAll tools will be supplied to use during the workshop. They will also be available to purchase if you want to continue your chain-making at home. But\, of course\, you are welcome to bring any of your own tools you’d like to use.\n\nAlso supplied\, will be a limited supply of either brass or copper wire in your choice of gauge depending on your chosen style of chain. Sterling silver wire will be available to purchase in the workshop\, but it is not recommended for learning or practicing with.\n\nPlease get in touch if you are wanting to purchase any tools or materials prior to the workshop or if you have any questions or requests.\n\nbronnsmith@gmail.com
