DESCRIPTION:Kim Westerskov Workshop\nSee images in Kim’s latest newsletter. \nIs your photography in a bit of a rut?\nWould you like to create some new and different “Wow!” photos?\nWould you like some clever new ideas to get “Honours” at your camera club?\nWant to try some new techniques?\nWant to lift your photography to a new level? \nIf you answered “yes” to any of these questions\, then this is the workshop I’ve designed for you. In fact\, I’ve been working on it for several years now: researching &\, looking for new “Wow!” ideas that you might like. And then experimenting\, testing the ideas\, and their potential for a workshop. \nWe’ll explore the exciting possibilities of using frozen floral\, botanical\, and other subjects\, out-of-focus “how on Earth did you get that??” photos using unexpected materials and techniques\, mirrors [broken and unbroken]\, crystal glass balls\, soap bubbles\, effervescence\, bokeh from fairy lights\, and many more ideas. All you need to do is bring yourself and your camera. I’ve already got the frozen flowers\, the unexpected materials\, the fairy lights\, prepared the broken mirrors and gathered together the other stuff we’ll need: the crystal glass balls [flown in from USA]\, a variety of mirrors\, special soap for bubbles [also flown in from USA]\, effervescence [from my local supermarket]\, feathers\, and more.\n\nThis workshop will be very different from my other workshops. We’ll spend some time looking at a variety of good and great new ideas and techniques for you\, and then – much earlier in the day than usual – I’ll set up the equipment and you’ll bring out your cameras and get photographing. You’ll go home with your memory\ncard full of exciting new photos. SUMMARY:Photo Impressionism & Photo Art Workshop: Kim Westerskov
DESCRIPTION:Photo Impressionism is an exciting area of photography. It releases your inner artist. It creates images filled with colour and movement and texture and feeling and emotion. It allows you to get really good photos when other photographers are complaining that “there’s nothing to photograph” or “the light is lousy”. \nI’ve learned and developed many techniques\, tips\, and tricks over the years\, and I’ll pass these on to you. Many are remarkably easy\, once you know what to do and “get your eye in”. You will very likely impress yourself! \nPreviously I have run “Photo Impressionism” and “Turning your Photos into Art” as separate workshops\, but they really belong together. So in this workshop\, I’ll cover both. Two for the price of one 😊\nMy approach to Photo Impressionism is to use various in-camera techniques to create what is hopefully a unique vision of the world and then to make that capture look as good as possible in Photoshop/Lightroom using just normal sliders such as Exposure\, Contrast\, Vibrance\, Clarity\, Texture and so on.\n“Turning your photos into Art” goes further\, turning your photos into something that looks more like a painting than a photo. The results are often amazing but …. the good news is that many of these results are EASY to obtain. Often so easy it almost feels like cheating. Some of the techniques use Photoshop/Lightroom and others use either free programs or need-to-purchase programs. You will surprise yourself. Look at the accompanying images I’ve created with the techniques & programs I’ll show you in this workshop.\nAfter a few hours\, YOU will have the knowledge and techniques to get photos just like them.
