SUMMARY:Dying to Talk
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an honest conversation about death at the library’s Death Cafe with Gaylene Delaney \n\n\n\n\n\n\nA ‘Death Cafe’ is a friendly and welcoming gathering where people come together to talk about death\, dying and end-of-life experiences. It is a safe and non-judgemental space where you can share your thoughts\, feelings and questions about death. \nThe aim of a ‘Death Cafe’ is to create open and honest conversations about something that can be a taboo topic in society. By exploring death in a supportive and comfortable environment\, we can deepen our appreciation for life and consequently make the most of what time we have left. \nGaylene Delaney is an end-of-life doula and registered nurse with a passion for caring for and supporting others through some of life’s most difficult transitions. She has a wealth of experience in mental health\, dementia and palliative care and can provide compassionate and holistic care for anyone travelling along this journey. She has journeyed through losses\, navigating life-changing challenges\, and has learnt the importance of gratitude\, accepting what is\, living in the present moment and having faith in the journey. \nRefreshments will be provided. \nSuitable for 18 years and over \nWhen: Wednesday 16 August 10.30-11.30am\nWhere: Mount Maunganui Library – 398 Maunganui Road\, Mt Maunganui\nCost: Free \nReserve a Spot
