SUMMARY:Circular Economy Solutions for Textiles
DESCRIPTION:Textiles play such a major part in our lives both in a practical way and as an expression of who we are. Whether clothing or furnishings\, they are often chosen for their beauty and how they make us feel. Unfortunately the environmental and social impact of many of these beautiful textiles is not good and typically something we are not aware of. \nUsedfully is on a mission to reduce the impact that textiles and the fashion industry is having on society and our environment – the impact of textiles on our environment is second only to food waste and there are so many different touch points with community\, industry\, waste and commercial opportunities. Come along and learn more about this industry\, and explore some practical things you can do at home and within your community to lesson the impact of textiles. \nSign up for this FREE seminar as part of Envirohub’s Sustainable Backyards \n\n\n\nWhen\n\nWednesday 10th March 2021 4:00pm – 6:00pm\n\n\n\nWhere \nReMaker Space\, 91 Willow Street\, Tauranga\n\n\nWho\nDeborah Crowe\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you’d like to find out more about what is happening in the textile industry in Aotearoa\, have a read of our recent report written by Bernadette Casey and Brian Johnston – 2020\n\n\n\nLOOKING IN THE MIRROR: A REVIEW OF CIRCULARITY IN THE CLOTHING AND TEXTILE INDUSTRY IN AOTEAROA
