SUMMARY:Create a Weaving with Plant Dyed Fabrics
DESCRIPTION:In this 2 hour workshop\, you will create a unique weaving (measuring approx 20cm x 17cm) using rescued fibre dyed with plants. You’ll have a table full of a beautiful selection of botanically dyed colours to choose from. \nOnce completed\, learn how to cut the weaving from the loom and be shown how to tie it off\, ready to take home and adorn a table or sideboard for a natural\, botanical themed piece of interior decor. \nNo experience necessary. All materials will be provided. Please remember to bring and wear your mask for this workshop. \nSpace is limited to 6 places\, so get in quick! \nWhen: Saturday 11th December 2021  10am-12 noon\nWhere:  Remaker Space\, 27 Spring Street\, Tauranga\nCost: $70 \nBOOK HERE\nTutor: Melissa Spargo from Woven Threads NZ \nAbout the artist: \nLong time Bay of Plenty local\, Melissa Spargo is following a family tradition of working with plant dyes. SUMMARY:Sew a Bumbag
DESCRIPTION:Don’t get bummed…get bumbagged! \nIn this 2 hour workshop you will use your existing sewing skills to create a bumbag that will see you through the summer! Basic sewing experience is absolutely necessary! This one’s a little bit technical but my god is it satisfying! Bring some awesome fabric with you or use the salvaged fabrics we have at ReMaker. (Get creative too – maybe you have an old shirt at home that you’ve already been spotted in and it’s time to mix things up? Use the rest of the fabric to make a matching beret?  Surely.) \nYou will spend the first 30 minutes cutting out your fabrics\, then approx 1.5 hours constructing the bumbag which will include inserting a zip. (Don’t worry it’s easier than it sounds I promise) Fabric needs to be approx 100 x 50 cm for the outer\, and a medium weight (remember the bumbag has to be quite sturdy as you will be rocking out all summer)! \nFor ages 16+ with previous sewing experience. \n\n\n\nWhen\n\nThursday 4th November 2021 7:00pm – 9:00pm\n\n\n\nWhere \nRemaker Space\, 91 Willow Street\, Tauranga\n\n\nWho\nJay Rosella\n\n\n\n\nCost: $50 per person \nBook Here\n \nNext Dates:\nWednesday 17th November 2021 7pm-9pm  Book Here
