You will hear the stories of Māori settlement from the northern end of Tauranga harbour to Whakatāne. Your learning journey will touch on the cultural importance of the various physical features.

Where: Meet at the Papamoa Hills Regional Park car park at the end of Poplar Lane, towards Te Puke from on the highway from Welcome Bay road.
This walk takes you up the well defined track to the top of the Papamoa Hills. It is an ideal walk similar to the fitness needed to walk up Mauao.
Before booking seek medical advice if you have any conditions that may preclude strenuous activity.
There are spectacular views to enjoy as we walk and talk.
Bring water, sun screen, hat, warm layer (weather dependent) and a lot of enthusiasm.
