Glass-sperience

September 24, 2019 @ 5:15 pm - 6:00 pm

- Free

“Glass-sperience” is an entertaining and interesting “How It’s Made’  mini tour which showcases three of the many techniques that are used in a Kilnforming and Flameworking glass studio.

You will see a live demonstration of how a glass bead is made on a gas torch and how to pull a glass stringer;  touch and see rods, powders, stringers, foil and other types of glass materials that are used in the making of glass art. Watch the process that is used to fuse and slump glass; and finally the procedure for making cast glass objects.  This is a Kilnforming studio and the techniques demonstrated are very different to those of glassblowing!

Conducted in a safe environment where you get to talk directly with Glassmaker Jo Tricker who has been working with glass for nine years, and who loves to share her passion and knowledge of glass.
