Why not learn this very relaxing craft.
I found weaving very therapeutic, when my children were young and I needed some time out for me. It’s a very practical skill to have and very sociable, as I learned at a local marae in Hokianga in Whirinaki. Hone helped me lots to prepare my harakeke so I could do some creations once the tamariki were in bed.
In this small wananga we will make a kete for your vegetable ( onions, potatoes..). If you want to make them huge afterwards, you could make them into washing baskets, or toy baskets for your children.
We will work in our garden under a great big tree. We will have some family members helping out this time.
Come with an open mind and a big smile. The only tools you’ll need are your hands and kind thoughts about yourself. No weaving experience needed but great if you already worked with it.
