Leaves and other botanical material are laid on fabric, rolled and bound very tightly, and with the help of dampness and heat, release the dye compounds found in the material, to give imprints of the leaves/plant matter on the fabric. This dyeing, depending on some other factors in the process, is colour and light fast.
The colour of the leaf (e.g. autumn colours) used bears little resemblance to the colour produced on the fabric, as it is the dye within the leaf that is released, and which gives the colour on the cloth.
The pieces produced can be used for bags, book covers, clothing, cushions.
Silk and wool fabric dye easily, as does paper. Cotton and linen are a bit more tricky, but can also be done.

Cost: $140 for 2 days, $85 one day (preferably first day if you are new to it).

I have given a choice of dates, and I’ll work out which ones to run from the numbers showing interest on each date.
