Dying to Talk

July 27, 2023 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

- Free

Join us for an honest conversation about death at the library’s Death Cafe with Gaylene Delaney

A ‘Death Cafe’ is a friendly and welcoming gathering where people come together to talk about death, dying and end-of-life experiences. It is a safe and non-judgemental space where you can share your thoughts, feelings and questions about death.

The aim of a ‘Death Cafe’ is to create open and honest conversations about something that can be a taboo topic in society. By exploring death in a supportive and comfortable environment, we can deepen our appreciation for life and consequently make the most of what time we have left.

Gaylene Delaney is an end-of-life doula and registered nurse with a passion for caring for and supporting others through some of life’s most difficult transitions. She has a wealth of experience in mental health, dementia and palliative care and can provide compassionate and holistic care for anyone travelling along this journey. She has journeyed through losses, navigating life-changing challenges, and has learnt the importance of gratitude, accepting what is, living in the present moment and having faith in the journey.

Refreshments will be provided.
