A fun and relaxed workshop for hand-lettering enthusiasts who would like to learn the basics of modern brush calligraphy. A strong focus on te reo Māori (workshop will be bilingual), but all levels of te reo Māori learners are welcome. Aroha of Maimoa Creative is a calligrapher and designer who creates unique typography designs.
You will be introduced to basic strokes, tips and techniques, and create a final print of a whakataukī/proverb/quote to take home and gift or display in your kāinga (home).
All materials provided, and participants will receive a set of worksheets and material list if they wish to continue their journey at home.
For ages 18+.
