Tai Chi Internal Arts

Classes in Te Puke & Tauranga

David teaches Tai Chi in the Yang form and also Qigong which is an 18 move Shibashi. The difference between the Tai Chi and the Qigong is the Tai Chi is a moving meditation of up to 85 moves where the student steps and turns and travels about 2 meters during the set of moves. In Qigong the student remains in the same space but eventually moves every part of the body.

Tai Chi Internal Arts has been operating for two years at Te Puke and Tauranga with Beginner and Regular classes. Post Covid19 we are restarting with an emphasis on looking after ourselves. What this means is as well as the Tai Chi training, we will encourage the students to apply the principles of Tai Chi to everyday life and incorporate mindfulness, balance and the ability to deal with change. We seem to be in a time of rapid change which can create enormous personal stress.

Tai Chi Internal Arts is affiliated to Sport BOP so we offer training to all comers and in particular the Keep on your Feet Program which encourages the senior students to stay active. Tai Chi is valuable because as well as keeping the body fit, it also requires a fair bit of mental activity all the while staying very low impact.
